Two Army personnel were injured in an enounter with terrorists in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The encounter took place in the evening of 2 October after security forces conducted a cordon and search operation in a forest area of the district.
The joint team of the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police had cordoned off the Broh and Soom forest belts in the Kalakote area on Monday (2 October) based on information about suspicious movement.
The terrorists tried to break the cordon and opened fire on the troops, prompting the security forces to retaliate.
The officer said that the Army personnel have been hospitalised and their condition is stable, PTI reported.
Two terrorists are currently inside the cordoned area, according to the officials. To prevent their escape, reinforcements have been dispatched to block all possible routes.
A defence spokesperson said the joint operation was launched in the general area in Kalakote and technology is being used to monitor the terrorists.
