Thal Sena Bhawan: ITD Cementation Bags Rs 833 crore Order For Construction Of Indian Army's New Headquarters In Delhi

Engineering and Construction firm ITD Cementation on Wednesday (15 February) announced that it has bagged an order for construction of Indian Army's new headquarter building at Delhi cantonment in the national capital.

The project is worth around Rs 833 crore and will be carried out on an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) basis.

"ITD Cementation India Limited is pleased to inform that the Company has secured order to construct Thal Sena Bhawan at Delhi Cantt-10 on EPC basis worth ~Rs 833 crore," a company statement said on Wednesday.

The tenders for building the Indian Army's new headquarters was invited in October 2022.


The building will be a six-story high-quality construction, with a Dharma Chakra on top and modern offices for top-ranking officers. The building will be visible from far away, and there will be a separate four-storied Infrastructure Complex Hall, a gymnasium, a central library, and an accommodation complex.

The project will be located on 39 acres land and will bring together offices of the Army headquarters spread across New Delhi.

The Department of Military Affairs will operate from the new building, and the Army Chief will continue to have his office in South Block.
