The two aircraft reportedly took off from Gwalior air base in Madhya Pradesh for a routine training exercise.

One of the three pilots involved in the accident sustained fatal injuries and died, according to the reports.

While two pilots on Su-30 sustained minor injuries, the third pilot on Mirage died after being fatally wounded in the crash, India Today reported.

The IAF has ordered an inquiry to determine the cause of the accident.
