Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) party chief Imran Khan.
In the interview, Khan accused the establishment of making all the decisions in Pakistan and said “nothing can happen without the establishment's consent.”
“Right now this government is totally dependent on the establishment,” he said.
When asked to identify, who is the establishment, and who is the one man controlling Pakistan, Khan said, “the Army Chief, he makes the decisions. Whatever he says is followed”.
This interview comes a day after the Lahore Police clashed with Khan’s political party — Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) — supporters when they tried to arrest Khan from his residence (15 March).
The police used tear gas, armoured vehicles, and water cannons to contain protests by supporters outside the compound.
The warrant directs the Lahore Police to bring Imran Khan under custody by 18 March.
In the Toshakhana case, Khan is linked to accusations of illegally selling presents he received during his tenure as Pakistan’s prime minister from 2018-2022.
Yesterday (16 March), the Islamabad High Court judge halted the arrest of Khan by Lahore Police by a day — to Friday.
Khan’s counsel presented the undertaking that his client would appear in court on 18 March, as per directions of the Islamabad High Court.
According to the Dawn, Khan's counsel confirmed that he would appear before the Lahore High Court tomorrow, as directed by the Islamabad High Court.
