UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has instructed officials to create an action plan to achieve a $1 trillion economy in the next four years.
The plan is to focus on 10 sectors and collaborate with relevant departments to ensure successful implementation, according to a government spokesperson.
The 10 sectors in focus are law, agriculture, social security, infrastructure, industry, urban and rural development, medical care, education, tourism, and revenue collection.
The state government of Uttar Pradesh is optimistic about its economic growth prospects, having received investment proposals worth Rs 35 lakh crore after the recent Global Investors Summit.
The government has also announced a historic budget of Rs 6.90 lakh crore for the 2023-2024 financial year, further fueling its ambitions to become the largest economy in the country by 2027.
In order to achieve this goal, Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to prepare an action plan in mission mode for the next four years, with each sector assigned to an experienced additional chief secretary.
The chief minister has directed officials to create short and long-term measures for every sector, while maintaining constant surveillance on their implementation.
Uttar Pradesh's economy ranks third in the country, with a GDP of Rs 18.63 lakh crore and a per capita GSDP of Rs 68,810. However, the state's per capita income of Rs 41,023 is lower than the national average of Rs 86,659. Despite this, the state's GDP has grown impressively at 16.8%, outpacing the national growth rate under the Yogi 2.0 government.
The state's 2023-24 annual budget allocates significant funds towards infrastructure projects like roads, bridges, and expressways, as well as for the establishment of 14 new medical colleges.
