The much-awaited Bengaluru Yellow Line Metro, is anticipated to be inaugurated in July 2023.

The Yellow Line is part of the Phase 2 of the Bengaluru Metro project, will connect R V Road in the south of the city to Bommasandra, a fast-growing suburb on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

The yellow line will include stops at R V Road, Ragigudda, Jayadeva Hospital, BTM Layout, Central Silk Board, Bommanahalli, Singasandra, Electronic City, Bommasandra, Hongasandra, Kudlu Gate, Hosa Road, Beratena Agrahara, Konappana Agrahara, Huskuru Road, and Hebbagodi.

As per Times Now report, the majority of track and station work has been done, and final work is continuing. If all goes as planned, the line should be operational by late July or early August.

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) authorities, however, have not confirmed the development. The Model Code of Conduct has been implemented in the state for the upcoming assembly elections on 10 May.

Originally the whole yellow line was scheduled to be finished in 2021, and the deadline was later pushed back to December 2022.

BMRCL has constructed a metro-cum-road flyover between Ragigudda and Silk Board as part of the Electronics City metro line.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently launched the Whitefield to KR Puram metro line (13.71-kilometre) of the phase 2 expansion project, built at a cost of Rs 4,250 crores.

BMRCL managing director Anjum Parwez stated that the opening of two major lines connecting Whitefield and Electronics City will significantly reduce traffic congestion as lakhs of people will switch to the metro for commuting.
