The under-construction Mysuru - Bengaluru expressway (NHAI)
Rs 8,172 crore Bengaluru - Mysuru expressway, which is slated to reduce travel time between the major cities of Karnataka to 75 minutes from the current three hours, is set for completion by October 2022.
The Bengaluru - Nidaghatta - Mysuru section of NH-275 is a 117 km long highway stretch in Karnataka, is now expanded as a ten-lane access-controlled highway.
“The Bengaluru - Mysuru expressway will enhance connectivity between the two important cities and provide an impetus to tourism and economy in the region. Its construction work is nearing completion and will be completed by October 2022,” Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said.
The economic corridor project between the two cities is being executed under Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase-I will and is estimated to cost over Rs 8,000 crore. The expressway project is being developed under two packages. The first one runs from Bengaluru to Nidaghatta in Maddur taluk, and the second package connects Nidaghatta to Myusuru.
The scope of the work also includes the construction of an 8 km long elevated corridor, nine major bridges, 42 minor bridges, 64 underpasses, 11 overpasses, four ROBs and five bypasses.
Three elevated corridors are being built, including a 5 km section in the outskirts of Bengaluru, a 3 km section in Maddur, and the third one in Srirangapatna.
The 10-lane highway also includes two service roads on either side.
