Embarking upon a journey spanning across 11,000 km in eight states, over 1,000 devotees are on their way to visit 12 Jyotirlinga temples, three sacred Dhams, and the Tirupati Balaji temple, in two specially designed trains.

In order to facilitate the spiritual journey, IRCTC has organised two specially designed trains — Kailash Bharat Gaurav and Chitrakoot Bharat Gaurav.

These trains are adorned with vibrant vinyl wraps, showcasing scenes from the Jyotirlinga temples, Dhams and Tirupati Balaji temple, creating a visual spectacle that resonates with the spiritual essence of the yatra.

According to the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the schedule of the Jyotirlinga Ram Katha Yatra is meticulously planned.

Commencing on 22 July, 2023, the devotees would visit the sacred Kedarnath at an altitude of nearly 12,000 feet. From there, the spiritual journey continues with visits to various sacred destinations, including Vishwanath Jyotirlinga, Baidyanath Jyotirlinga, Jagannath Puri, Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga, Rameshwaram Jyotirlinga, and Tirupati Balaji temple, among others.

According to the IRCTC, Bharat Gaurav trains circuit is designed with a profound vision to spread the teachings of Lord Ram and promote the values of truth, love, and compassion.

The purpose behind this sacred expedition is not only to commemorate the timeless wisdom of the Ram Katha, but also to foster unity and a collective understanding of Sanatana Dharma, the eternal principles that guide the path of righteousness.

Onboard these trains, a total of 1,008 devotees embark on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel through the sacred landscapes of India.

The teachings of the Ram Katha, rooted in simplicity, devotion, and righteousness, are open to all, irrespective of caste, creed, or religion, symbolising the inclusive nature of Sanatana Dharma.

As the yatra progresses, devotees have the unique privilege of joining directly at any place along the journey, fostering a sense of unity among participants from different regions and backgrounds.

This inclusive approach aims to bring people together and celebrate the 75th anniversary of Indian independence in alignment with the vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, the essence of which lies in connecting diverse tapestry and cultural harmony.

The pilgrimage culminates on 19 August, 2023 at Delhi.

Throughout the yatra, devotees are not only nourished spiritually but also physically, as all attendees are served three meals as prasad, emphasising the practice of offering food as an act of devotion.

The significance of undertaking this pilgrimage during the sacred month of Saavan is expected to amplify the spiritual experience, making it a remarkable achievement for all participants.

The Bharat Gaurav tourist train aims to serve as a reminder of the quintessential essence of Sanatana Dharma and the glory of Lord Ram's name.

It stands as a testament to the rich spiritual heritage of India, promoting unity, cultural harmony, and righteousness among its people. IRCTC will provide all services to the tourists including train journey, meals, hotel for stay and tour escorts.
