The Amritsar–Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC) marked a major moment on Wednesday (20 August) with the signing of two crucial agreements between the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT), the Government of Haryana and the Haryana Airports Development Corporation (HADC).
The State Support Agreement (SSA) and Shareholder Agreement (SHA) pave the way for the development of the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) at Hisar.
The National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC), through this partnership, will assist Haryana in shaping one of its most ambitious industrial hubs.
The IMC at Hisar is among 20 projects being advanced by NICDC in collaboration with various states, reflecting the Centre’s determination to build world-class infrastructure and promote balanced industrial growth.
Spread across 2,988 acres, the Hisar cluster is expected to become a cornerstone of Haryana’s economic future.
Once operational, it is projected to create 1.25 lakh jobs and attract a mix of domestic and global investors, reinforcing the Make in India mission.
Strategically positioned between the Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors, the IMC enjoys excellent connectivity through NH-52, NH-09, rail networks and logistics hubs.
The press note emphasised that the project will not only strengthen Haryana’s industrial ecosystem but also establish North India as a competitive manufacturing base.
