India reaffirmed its commitment to Nepal’s post-disaster recovery efforts by delivering the first consignment of components for 10 prefabricated steel bridges. This infrastructure support is aimed at restoring road connectivity disrupted by the recent devastating floods and landslides in Nepal.

In a formal handover, Devi Sahai Meena, Consul General of India in Birgunj, presented the consignment to Parsa Chief District Officer Dinesh Sagar Bhusal. According to the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, additional consignments will be delivered in the coming days as part of India’s ongoing support to its neighbor.

The disaster relief extends beyond infrastructure support. In the past two days, India has provided over 25 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Nepal, including hygiene supplies, medicines, life jackets, inflatable boats, food items, and bottled water. This aid is intended to assist families affected by the floods and landslides, reports ANI.

The Indian government has reiterated its pledge to provide all possible assistance to Nepal in its ongoing relief and reconstruction efforts.
