Commercial service on the Kavi Subhash to Hemanta Mukhopadhyay stretch of the Orange Line of the Kolkata metro is set to begin soon.

Kavi Subhash - Hemanta Mukherjee is on the new Metro line from Kavi Subhash to Dumdum Airport via Rajarhat.

The inauguration is expected to take place later this month, although the official date and time have not been announced yet.

At the cost of Rs 1,550 crore, the new stretch will link the two Metro lines of the country's first metro network at Kavi Subhash station, with the start of regular service.

The Kolkata Metro has announced the fare structure for a 5.4-km long stretch. To streamline travel and save passengers' time, the Metro Railway will introduce the Single Ticket System connecting the Blue Line to the Orange Line.
