The Public Works Department (PWD) is preparing for a major post-monsoon repair drive, with work set to begin on more than 80 stretches across Delhi, according to a Times of India report.
Among the most prominent are the Noida Link Road and the Noida More flyover slip road, used daily by thousands of commuters travelling via the DND Flyway.
The two projects alone carry an estimated cost of Rs 3.68 crore, while the overall plan for all stretches could reach close to Rs 300 crore.
Officials confirmed that most of the identified stretches fall under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF).
In central and north Delhi, tenders covering around Rs 41.02 crore will include Arya Samaj Road, DB Gupta Road (from Military Road to Kalka Das Chowk and from Faiz Road to Ajmeri Gate Chowk), Deshraj Bhatia Marg, New Rohtak Road, Pahari Dheeraj Road, Pyarelal Road, Rani Jhansi Road, and SN Marg.
Roads in east Delhi and Jhilmil Colony such as Shiva Khand Road, ESI Hospital Road, Sant Lal Gupta Marg and New Seemapuri Road will undergo repairs at an estimated cost of Rs 31.54 crore.
The works will include resurfacing, strengthening of carriageways, and safety upgrades.
On the Noida corridor, reflective road markings, cat’s-eyes and solar-powered studs will be installed, enhancing visibility during fog and after dark.
Contractors will also be responsible for keeping sites clear of debris and ensuring waste is sent only to MCD-approved facilities.
