Uttarakhand will reportedly get its first Vande Bharat train connecting state's capital Dehradun to national capital Delhi by the end of this month.

The train, equipped with modern facilities, will reduce the travel time between the two cities to just three and a half hours from nearly six hours currently.

According to an Amar Ujala report, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the train from the Dehradun Railway station on 29 May.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will also attend the event.

Chaudhary was cited in the report as saying that a notification regarding the details of operation, timing and ticket price of Dehradun-Delhi Vande Bharat train will be released soon.

The Vande Bharat Express train has 14 AC chair car coaches and two executive AC chair car coaches with a capacity of 1,128 passengers. They are equipped with indigenously designed, modern passenger amenities.

The railways plans to run 400 Vande Bharat trains across India in the next three years.

The train is manufactured with indigenous technology, equipped with modern features and enhanced comfort. It has automatic sliding doors, reclining seats in all classes, and rotating seats in executive classes.
