Vibrant Villages Programme: Union Ministers To Visit, Spend A Night In Border Villages To Address Local Issues

Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav has said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi border villages will be developed comprehensively through the Vibrant Villages Programme and added that stronger border villages will lead to a stronger nation.

Yadav was on a two-day visit to Ladakh on 3-4 March as a part of the Vibrant Villages Programme where he visited the border villages of Tsaga pasture, Rezang-La and Chushul among others.

As a part of Vibrant Villages Programme, 1400 border villages have been identified and Union Ministers will visit and spend a night at the border villages to understand the issues faced by the people there and take steps to address them.

At Changthang Village, Tsaga pasture, the Union Minister enquired about the problems faced by them and assured them that benefits of Union Government schemes will reach them.


The scheme has been approved for the financial years 2022-23 to 2025-26. with financial allocation of Rs 4,800 crore.

The programme is designed to improve the quality of life of people living in identified border villages.

The scheme will provide funds for development of essential infrastructure and creation of livelihood opportunities in in 19 districts and 46 border blocks across four states and one union territory along the northern land border of India.
