A Vande Bharat Express.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate Vande Bharat Express from Ayodhya to Anand Vihar station in New Delhi along with the newly developed Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport and railway station on 30 December.
Besides, the PM is also slated to flag off a few more Vande Bharat trains for other destinations including Amritsar-New Delhi, Katra Vaishno Devi-New Delhi, Coimbatoor-Bangalore and Jalna-Mumbai.
There is a Vande Bharat train operational between Katra and New Delhi which is running with more than 100 per cent occupancy rate.
There is a need for another Vande Bharat service for Katra which would be fulfilled shortly, the Railways maintains.
As far as Amritsar Vande Bharat is concerned there was also demand for it to connect the holy city with New Delhi.
In order to improve the train connectivity and network in Maharashtra, the Railways is to begin the maiden Vande Bharat Express service in Marathwad. The new Vande Bharat train will run on the Jalna-Mumbai route through Aurangabad railway station.
Till now the Railways has launched 35 Vande Bharat trains. With these five more Vande Bharat trains, the number will go up to 40.
The Railways will run a total of 75 Vande Bharat trains with seating facility. About 500 Vande Bharat trains with sleeper facility will be made in the next three years. The sleeper design is being finalised now and the prototype will be ready by April next year.
The administrative machinery at Ayodhya has swung into action keeping the big occasion in mind.
