Model of the tableau by Uttar Pradesh showcasing Namo Bharat train in Republic Day Parade 2024.
The Namo Bharat train will be highlighted in this year’s 75th Republic Day parade. A glimpse of it will be showcased in the tableau representing the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Themed as "Viksit Bharat: Samriddh Virasat," the tableau from Uttar Pradesh will showcase the pride of the nation, highlighting projects and achievements that contribute to its rich heritage.
It will include a display of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) Sahibabad Station and the Namo Bharat train originating from it.
This moment promises to be profoundly captivating as people from various corners of the world will witness the revolutionary strides in transportation brought about by India's first Namo Bharat train.
It is noteworthy that the first RRTS corridor of the country, connecting Delhi with the western part of Uttar Pradesh is already operational for passengers.
This corridor spans 82 km, and the Namo Bharat train is expected to cover it in less than an hour.
In October 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the Namo Bharat train between Sahibabad to Duhai. Trials are currently underway for the additional 25 km stretch beyond Duhai to Meerut South RRTS station, and soon the Namo Bharat trains will be operational on this section as well.
Apart from the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor, the first phase of RRTS also includes the Delhi-Alwar and Delhi-Panipat corridors.
Following the ambitious project's success, plans are underway to introduce RRTS systems in other parts of the country.
