Telangana government has awarded the letter of award (LOA) to the successful bidders for the construction of three new super-specialty hospitals in the outskirts of Hyderabad.

This Rs 2,000 crore project includes building super speciality hospitals at Sanath Nagar, L B Nagar, and Alwal.

To be known as Telangana Institutes of Medical Sciences (TIMS), these hospitals will be built by Larsen and Toubro (L&T), Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) and DEC Infrastructure and Projects Private Limited.

While L&T would build the hospital at LB Nagar for Rs 668 crore, MEIL was awarded the contract to build TIMS Sanath Nagar for Rs 667 crore.

On the other hand, the contract to build TIMS Alwal was acquired by DEC Infrastructure for Rs 669 crore.

L&T is also building a 1,750 bed super specialty hospital at Warangal in Telangana. Upon completion, this 33 floors tall hospital will be one of the biggest in the state and the tallest hospital structure in the country.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) laid the foundation stone for these three super-specialty hospitals in April 2022, reports Siasat Daily.

With increasing criticism on the neglect of public education and health sectors in the state, the ruling BRS led by CM KCR undertook the mission to build super speciality hospitals in Telangana’s largest cities Hyderabad and Warangal.

According to the sources, CM KCR is expecting visible progress in these projects by the upcoming assembly elections in the state scheduled for November or December this year.
