The Vande Bharat Express.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will flag off the inaugural run of Vande Bharat Express from Dehradun to Delhi today (25 May) at 11 am via video conferencing.
This will be the first Vande Bharat to be introduced in Uttarakhand.
With world class amenities, it will herald a new era of comfortable travel experience, especially for the tourists travelling to the state.
The train has been indigenously and is equipped with advanced safety features including the Kavach technology, according to a PMO release.
The train, equipped with modern facilities, will reduce the travel time between the two cities to just four hours and 45 minutes from nearly six hours currently.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami will also attend the event.
The Vande Bharat Express train has 14 AC chair car coaches and two executive AC chair car coaches with a capacity of 1,128 passengers. They are equipped with indigenously designed, modern passenger amenities.
The railways plans to run 400 Vande Bharat trains across India in the next three years.
The train is manufactured with indigenous technology, and equipped with modern features and enhanced comfort. It has automatic sliding doors, reclining seats in all classes, and rotating seats in executive classes.
