At least 11 coal miners belonging to Pakistan's minority Shia Hazara community have been gunned down by unidentified kidnappers in Balochistan, reports Economic Times.
As per the local police officials, the miners were on their way to work when unidentified gunmen carried out a targeted attack by identifying them as being from the minority Shia Hazara community, kidnapping them and opening fire at them. Meanwhile, others were left unharmed.
While no outfit or group has claimed the responsibility for this attack in restive Balochistan territory, it should be noted that the banned Sunni extremist terror outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi has targeted the Shia Hazara community in the region in the past.
The attack has been condemned by Pakistan's Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan and Balochistan's Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal Khan.
