Coming out full throttle in the support of Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi's push for the nation to shun the usage of single-use plastic, eleven historic gurdwaras in Delhi have declared a ban on its usage, reports Times of India.
Announcing the decision, the president of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), Manjinder Singh Sirsa stressed that realising its duty following the PM Modi's call to shun single-use plastic, the DSGMC has decided to ban its usage.
While making the announcement, Sirsa also shared that the decision by the DSGMC had been taken after putting in place alternative arrangements and that steel utensils and dry leaf bowls will be used for serving water and langar to the devotees.
