313 Km Long Rs 11,000 Crore Ambala - Kotputli Greenfield Expressway To Be Ready For Public By March 2022

The 313 km long Ambala-Kotputli greenfield expressway is scheduled to open to the public by March 2022 as over 80 per cent of the corridor has been completed.

The six-lane access controlled corridor is being built with an investment of Rs 11,000 crore.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday (6 September) said that Ambala-Kotputli Greenfield Corridor would transform the road infrastructure in Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan.

In 2014, the total National Highway (NH) length in Haryana was 2,050 kilometres, which has been brought up to 3,237 km in 2020.

Four major corridors are being developed in Haryana, including two brownfield projects of Jind-Gohana-Sonipat and UP/Haryana Border-Rohna-Jhajjar.

The other two are greenfield projects – Ambala-Kotputli and Gurugram Rewari-Narnaul-Rajasthan Border.

Apart from these, several important projects have been taken up in the Delhi NCR areas around Haryana.

These include the 1,350 km Delhi-Mumbai Expressway costing about Rs one lakh crore, the 600 km Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway costing Rs 30,000 crore, the 30 km Dwarka Expressway costing over Rs 8,000 crore, the 21 km Gurugram-Sohna Road costing Rs 1,630 crore, the 28 km Ambala Ring Road, and the 30 km Karnal Ring Road.
