AAP Scores Lesser Votes Than NOTA In Maharashtra And Haryana Elections, Loses All 70 Seats

In a major setback for Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), its candidates on 70 seats of Haryana and Maharashtra have all suffered a defeat, collectively polling lesser number of votes than the votes polled in favour of NOTA, reports Hindu Businessline.

The Delhi based party had fielded candidates in a total of 46 of the 90 seats in Haryana, and 24 of the total seats in the state of Maharashtra. However, on most of the seats the party's candidates have won lesser than 1,000 votes and will lose their security deposits.

Asserting that Maharashtra had been reduced to a failed state under the leadership of other parties, prior to the election date, the AAP had made the promise to 're-engineer' Maharashtra if it's candidates won.
