An IT firm with global presence, Accenture, plans to cover the cost of Covid-19 vaccination for all its two lakh employees in India.
The company also plans to cover the dependents of its employees who are enrolled on the company’s medical benefits programme in the plan.
“For employees who are eligible and choose to receive the Covid-19 vaccination, Accenture will cover the cost for the employee and their dependents who are part of our medical benefits program,” said Rekha M. Menon, Chairperson and senior managing director, Accenture in India.
The Economic Times reports that several companies including Tatas, Vedanta, TVS motors, Mahindra etc are preparing to secure vaccines from the manufacturers for their employees and their families.
The next phase of vaccination commenced on 1 March for those who are over 60 years of age and for people aged 45 and above with specific comorbid conditions. A total of 1,56,20,749 vaccine doses have been given till now.
Leading from the front, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday (1 March) got vaccinated against Covid-19 at the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) as India started the second phase of Covid vaccination drive.
