Amid a second wave of fresh COVID-19 cases in the country, Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi is likely to cancel his visit to Portugal and France next month, reports Livemint.
PM Modi was to travel to Portugal to partake in the India-European Union (EU) leaders' summit which is presently scheduled to be held on 8 May. The summit was expected to see some key announcements on the India-EU trade and investments front where the two sides have been negotiating a bilateral trade and investment agreement.
It should be noted that citing the upsurge in fresh cases in India, British Prime Minister (PM) Boris Johnson has also called off his visit to India later this month for a summit which will now be held in a virtual format on 26 April.
