During his Tamil Nadu visit for a state party meeting, Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah expressed his desire to see a Tamil as India's Prime Minister in the future, according to party sources.
A veteran BJP leader and former national president of the party, Shah made this statement during a closed-door meeting with party functionaries.
Inside sources indicated that Shah was explicit about his belief that a Tamil Prime Minister should be chosen in the near future.
Aside from advocating for a Tamil PM, Shah encouraged BJP functionaries to work towards winning at least 20 seats in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha election.
To achieve this goal, he urged the strengthening of booth committees, emphasising their central role in securing an electoral victory.
