Union Home Minister Amit Shah has claimed that the BJP will emerge victorious in 122 out of 180 seats that have gone to polls in the first five phases of the West Bengal assembly elections so far.

The senior BJP leader also asserted that incumbent Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is set to lose the Nandigram constituency to her former aide Suvendu Adhikari who joined the BJP in December 2020.

Shah remarked that CM Banerjee is completely demoralized after five rounds of polls as he believes that it is now firmly established that the BJP is way ahead of her in the race.

He criticized the TMC supremo for furthering a violent brand of politics and governance in the state. The 56-year-old asserted that the BJP believes in governing the state through the models of faith, business and development in order to set up a ‘Sonar Bangla’.
