Post Nitish Kumar's resignation as the Chief Minister in the NDA alliance, Bihar BJP held a press conference and called his act a "betrayal."
Talking to the media, Bihar BJP president Sanjay Jaiswal said, "We fought the 2020 polls together under NDA, the mandate was for JD-U and BJP. Whatever happened today is a betrayal of Bihar's people and the BJP."
He also pointed out that despite BJP winning 74 seats, Nitish Kumar was made the CM whose party JD(U) had won much lesser seats.
He also questioned Kumar about the corruption charges, over which he had left the Mahagathbandhan and joined NDA back in 2017.
Whereas, Kumar has said that he regrets breaking the alliance in 2017 and now he wants to move forward with the Mahagathbandhan government.
Kumar's resignation has been accepted by the governor and he has staked a claim for the formation of a new government with "the support of 160 MLAs."
