In a successful endeavour, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has built a crucial bridge near the India-China border in Uttarakhand within a span of five days, reports Times of India.

The bridge on Munsyari-Milam road has been built on a priority basis given its "strategically important" nature. It should be noted that the bridge has been built at the same spot where an old bridge had collapsed recently on 22 June when an earthmover was being taken across it.

The bridge is 110-foot-long and has the capacity to sustain a load of 30 tonnes. It serves as an imperative link on the 64-kilometre-long Munsyari-Milam road which once completely built, will aid the easy movement of Indian Army's and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)'s personnel to higher Himalayan posts along the border with China.

The development also gains much significance given the simmering tensions along the entire border with China, which has witnessed increased activity by the armed forces from both the nations lately.
