In yet another belligerent move, China is said to have ramped-up distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks on India's government websites and banking system in a bid to crash them by creating an artificial surge in internet traffic.

This internet traffic powered mainly by bots then seeks to prevent regular users from accessing or using the services offered by these websites.

These efforts to target India's critical websites were carried between Tuesday and Wednesday (16-17 June) but largely proved unsuccessful.

This cyber attack came at the heels of China premeditating an attack on Indian troops in Ladakh's Galwan valley, which resulted in 20 deaths of Indian Army personnel. India in response inflicted 43 casualties including 35 deaths (as per US intelligence) on the Chinese side.
