CISF
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has been given the responsibility of Ram Janmabhoomi's security in Ayodhya. The CISF comes under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
Currently, Ram Mandir is under construction and has been given a three-level (CRPF, Police and PAC) security. However, it is expected that the CISF will take over the security responsibility before its inauguration in January next year.
The CISF did a security audit of the Ram Janmabhoomi premises last year and since then it was expected that the force will be given the charge of the shrine's security.
The plan is to do a security overhaul of Ram mandir and use the latest technology for it. The CISF also wants to ensure that pilgrims don't face any difficulty due to the security cover.
CISF's Director General Sheelvardhan Singh and DIG Sumant Singh visited Ram Janmabhoomi on Wednesday (5 July). ADG Zone Piyush Mordia, IG Range Praveen Kumar and SSP Rajkaran Nayyar accompanied them.
They spent three hours on the premises and reviewed the security arrangements there. The plan is to install bag scanners at entry points and also use anti-drone technology.
The CISF security umbrella includes India’s most critical infrastructure facilities like nuclear installations, space establishments, airports, seaports, power plants etc.
In addition, the CISF also protects important government buildings, iconic heritage monuments and the Delhi Metro. The CISF also has a specialized VIP Security vertical providing round the clock security to important protectees.
