Rift in the Madhya Pradesh Congress appeared to have widened as senior leader and former member of parliament (MP) Jyotiraditya Scindia left a review meeting of the state party unit midway, reports the Times of India.

The development came just a day after Scindia who is also the All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary had warned that he will hit the streets against his own party's government in the State if Chief Minister (CM) Kamal Nath led government did not fulfil all the promises made in its election manifesto.

However, the party later tried to assert that all was well in the state unit and that Scindia had informed in advance that he would leave the meeting early.

It should be noted that Scindia has been a public critic of CM Nath and his government, having slammed and critiqued the latter over crop damage survey, farm loan waiver and also over the demand of contractual teachers who have been demanding the regularisation of their jobs.
