In a major development in relation with the communal riots which broke out in North East Delhi recently, a Delhi court on Tuesday (19 March) sent Shahrukh, who had opened fire at police officials during the riots, to judicial custody for a period of 14-days, reports Asian News International (ANI).

Delhi Police have already recovered the pistol Shahrukh had shot with at the police officials, and the car which he had then used to flee from the spot. The Police has revealed that after initially roaming around in the riot-ridden areas of Delhi, Shahrukh had fled to Punjab and then to Uttar Pradesh (UP)'s Shamli where he was finally nabbed by the force.

Meanwhile, it should also be noted that the 14-day long judicial custody of Shahrukh comes after his three-day custody had expired.
