A report from the United Nations (UN) has revealed that there are as many as 6,500 Pakistani terrorists among the foreign fighters operating in Afghanistan, reports Hindustan Times.

The report reveals that Pakistan based terrorist outfits Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) play a key role in bringing foreign terrorists into the war-torn country, of which Pakistani terrorists formed a significant part.

It should be noted that there have been reports since last year which have claimed that JeM and LeT are sending terrorists to Afghanistan following increased pressure on Pakistan from the world community to crack down on terror groups.

Responding to the UN report, the spokesperson of India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Anurag Srivastava expressed "serious concern" and asserted that the report vindicates India's long-standing position that Pakistan remains the epicenter of international terrorism.
