The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has formed an expert panel of notable engineers led by IIT Delhi’s ex-director V S Raju, Indian Express reports.
The Trust will provide the committee the details on the structural design, soil investigation and pile test reports that is with them and the Larsen and Tourbo (L&T) and Tata Consulting Engineers (TCE).
“The committee will review soil investigation carried out by L&T, evaluate the possibility of liquefaction of soil under seismic hazards and suggests safeguard. It would also review precedents of similar structures constructed in the recent past in either India or abroad and whether the methodology would be appropriate for this temple,” the Trust was quoted in the report.
The foundation design of the upcoming temple is yet to be decided upon, though L&T has submitted its prospective version of the same. The company’s outline consists of a plain cement raft placed on 1,200 cement concrete piles with a diameter of 1 meter and depth of 20-40 meters.
