Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackarey reviewed the Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Expressway at Shivni-Rasalpur in Nandgaon-Khandeshwar taluka of Amravati district along with state PWD minister Eknath Shinde, other ministers and senior officials.

The eight-lane, 704-km long expressway crosses through 10 districts and is set to cut the travelling time from Mumbai to Nagpur to eight hours from 18 hours. Following his inspection, Thackarey has declared that the first phase of this project will be open for public from 1 May 2021 onward.

Thackarey further claimed that the work on the project continued during the Covid-19 lockdown, which paved the way for its timely completion. The Shivsena leader travelled 6 km in Amravati to examine the quality and speed of the expressway.
