Union Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla led the Government's diplomatic drive to inform a select group of Heads of Missions about the killing of four Pakistan backed Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K)'s Nagrota, reports The Hindu.

Shringla also informed the select top diplomats about the discovery of a cross border tunnel which had been used by the said militants to enter the Indian territory illicitly.

Shringla informed the diplomats that the terrorists were clearly planning the biggest terrorist attack on the Indian soil since the 14 February Pulwama suicide bombing attack. He also informed them that the attack was meant to sabotage the DDC elections in J&K, and was designed to coincide with the anniversary of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack.

The diplomats were also briefed about the past attacks carried out by JeM in J&K. They were also informed that in 2020 alone, J&K has witnessed 200 incidents of terrorist violence, while 199 terrorists have also been eliminated.
