Government Won’t Tolerate Turning Of Educational Institutions Into Hubs Of Politicking, Asserts Union HRD Minister

Union Minister for Human Resources Development (HRD) Ramesh Pokhriyal said on Sunday (29 December) that the Government of India will not tolerate politicking in the educational institutions across the nation amidst protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), reports Asian News International (ANI).

Speaking in Kolkata, Pokhriyal clearly stated, "If someone wants to do politics, they can. But do not make educational institutes its hubs. Students come to get an education, they are the country's hope. The Modi government will not tolerate this."

The protests having turned violent in certain pockets have led to loss of lives and public property across the nation. Meanwhile, Indian National Congress (INC), Trinamool Congress (TMC) and a few other political parties are opposing the new law.
