Working in a joint operation with the Rajasthan Police and an NGO, the Gujarat Police on Sunday (29 December) brought down a child trafficking racket and secured 138 children in Surat city, reports Asian News International (ANI).
The operation was launched after the Gujarat Police received information about the racket from the Rajasthan Police which itself had acted on the basis of a report prepared by Bachpan Bachao Andolan and Women Ansara Vikas Trust.
The success of the operation has been lauded by Rajesh Patel of the Sabhiya Gujarat Rajya bar Adhikaar Savrakshan Aayog who said, "Today's incident is a proof that if police, society and other organisations come together, various evil practices can be wiped out."
