India and Pakistan's Indus Commissioners are set to meet on 23-24 March in New Delhi for the annual meeting of the Permanent Indus Commission (PIC), reports Indian Express.
The Indian Delegation for the meeting will be led by Commissioner (Indus) Pradeep Kumar Saxena who said, "We are committed towards full utilisation of India’s rights under the treaty and believe in amicable solution of issues through discussion."
The two sides were also scheduled to hold a meeting in March last year. The same was however cancelled in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
India had proposed to hold the meeting virtually but Pakistan had insisted on holding the talks at the Attari check post. The request was however declined by India as it was not conducive to hold the meeting at the Attari Joint Check Post because of the pandemic.
