India is said to have rejected China's push to start the disengagement process from the southern bank of the Pangong Tso lake, asserting that the steps to defuse the tensions in the region must simultaneously take place at all the friction points, reports Economic Times.
The development took place at the latest round of military talks held between the Indian Army and the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA). The Indian delegation is also said to have told the Chinese counterparts that the disengagement must also include Depsang region.
India is also said to have told the Chinese counterparts that given the standoff began in May month because of aggressive and expansionist moves by them, the disengagement process will also have to be led by them at the friction points.
The crucial Corps Commander-level meeting took place on Monday (21 September).
