Indian Americans protest in Washington
Amid continued tensions between India and China along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Eastern Ladakh, several Indian-Americans held a peaceful demonstration outside the Chinese Embassy in Washington in the United States (US), reports Times of India.
The protestors displayed anti-China banners and slammed it for the spread of COVID-19 pandemic across the globe, which has not just derailed the global economy, but also led to lakhs of deaths.
The protestors shouted slogans like "China Communist: Down Down" and said, "the Chinese virus has killed lakhs of people across the world and has brought the global economy to a standstill."
Another activist Mahindra Sapa asserted that China has been bullying India and several smaller nations for the past several decades.
Protestors included a cross-section of the Indian-American cultural and social organisations like the Kerala Association of Greater Washington, Durga Temple friends, Tamil cultural groups and Indian cultural Associations of Howard County, National Council of Asian Indian Associations and Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America.
