From 1 January to 29 August 2019, the Indian Army has neutralised a whopping 139 terrorist in the state turned union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, reports Economic Times.
The figure accounts for terrorists killed along the Line of Control (LoC) as well as within the hinterland in various encounters. Meanwhile, the Army has also suffered a loss of lives of 26 personnel in this course, all across the Kashmir Valley.
Also, the cumulative count of the ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the LoC have surged to a worrying 1,889 in a mere eight months. In 2018, the same figure stood at 1,629 for the entire year. July witnessed the highest number of such violations, tallying to 296 incidents.
