KGMU Lucknow Develops AI-Based Tool To Differentiate Between X-Rays Of COVID-19 And Ordinary Patients

In a major positive development in national effort agianst COVID-19 pandemic, Lucknow based King's George Medical University (KGMU) has successfully developed an artificial intelligence (AI) powered radiological tool which can help in differentiating between the X-ray scans of COVID-19 patients and other patients, reports Asian News International (ANI).

KGMU has developed the tool in collaboration with Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University within a short span of 300 hours. Detailing the working of the tool, KGMU's vice chancellor Dr MLB Bhatt shared, "We have to feed the digital X-ray in computer. Then it tells whether there is any damage in the lungs due to COVID-19."


Formerly known as Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University, KGMU was first established in 1905 as a medical school, and was later upgraded into a full-fledged medical university by the then Uttar Pradesh Government in 2002.
