Following uproar and pushback over Maharashtra government’s decision to spend Rs 5.98 crore for appointing a private agency to handle Deputy Chief Minister (Dy CM) Ajit Pawar’s social media handles, Pawar has now issued the instructions to cancel the earlier government order in this regard, reports Times of India.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had strongly opposed the state government’s move to spend crores on appointing a private agency for handling the social media handles of Pawar.

The original order had been issued on Wednesday (12 May). In it, the General Administration Department of the state government had issued directions to appoint an external agency to disseminate information to the people through various social media platforms about the public-oriented decisions, initiatives, policies and also the announcements made by Dy CM Pawar.
