The prestigious National School of Drama (NSD) is looking to open new centres in different parts of the country, including one in the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Asian News International (ANI).
Sharing the plans, NSD's chairman Paresh Rawal emphasised, "I believe that NSD should be extended to centres, it should be opened everywhere in North, West, East and South." He reasoned that the move would give the likes of him who are not from NSD would get a chance.
Rawal also shared that NSD is keen to set up centres in the States of Gujarat, West Bengal and Maharashtra.
Rawal meanwhile also revealed that the Government was actively considering to accord NSD the tag of Institute of National Importance which would enable the institution to award degrees, open up new centres and to introduce new courses like playwriting, costume designing, property making et cetera.
