The Pakistani cricket team on Sunday registered a thumping victory against its Indian counterpart in the ongoing World Cup T20 tournament. The Babar Azam-led Pakistani team defeated the Virat Kohli-led Indian team by 10 wickets.

Top Pakistani politicians and sports commentators have described it as a victory of the “Islamic world”.

Khan termed Pakistan’s victory over India as “kufr to toot gaya”. Azam smiled and replied saying it happened by Allah’s grace.

Kufr” by definition means to disagree, to reject or not accept any of the commands by Allah and by Muhammad, which Muslims belief is Allah’s last messenger on earth.

Bazid’s statement has been slammed by many Indian Twitter users for its “hate slur”.
