Over 36 Lakh People Vaccinated On 1 April After Govt Opens Covid-19 Vaccination For All Above 45 Years

Over 36 lakh people were vaccinated against Covid-19 across India on Thursday (1 April), the highest number of vaccinations in a day so far since the Covid-19 vaccination drive began on 16 January, according to the Health Ministry.

As many as 36,71,242 Covid-19 vaccine doses were administered on 1 April, the health ministry data revealed.

Of the total beneficaries vaccinated on 1 April, as many as 33,65,597 received the first dose of the vaccine while 3,05,645 were administered the second dose.


Meanwhile, the total number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the country have surpassed 6.87 crore mark.

As many as 6,87,89,138 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered to the beneficiaries across the country so far.

Meanwhile, the total number of active Covid-19 cases in the country have surpassed 6 lakh mark as 81,466 new cases were reported in the coutnry on Thursday (1 April), the highest number of infections registered in the country in over 5 months.
