Make in India ventilators (Pic Via Twitter)
In a boost for the national capital to cope against the ongoing wave of fresh COVID-19 cases, Delhi has received 150 GPS-enabled ventilators under PM Cares Trust Fund, reports Hindustan Times.
All of the 150 ventilators have been operationalised at Delhi’s Sardar Patel Covid Centre which is being run by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) in collaboration with the Union Territory (UT) Government.
It should be noted that 150 ventilators have been provided to the facility after ITBP’s Director-General SS Deswal has raised a request for the same on a loan basis for six months to treat critical patients at the facility.
ITBP is one of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) which operate under the administrative control of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. It was raised on 24 October 1962 in the wake of the Indo-China war in 1962. The force has since been playing a pivotal role in securing the nation’s long borders against China.
