The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MAHA-METRO) has invited fresh proposals and bids to install 5 MW rooftop and ground-mounted solar power projects in the Pune Metro Rail Project, Mercom India reports.
This initiative will be carried out under the renewable energy service company (RESCO) model, wherein the developer will own the solar project and the consumer will pay for the energy generation.
The interested parties are required to pay around Rs 8,90,000 as a bid security amount whereas the successful bidder will have to pay almost Rs 1.79 crore as the deposit for performance security. Moreover, the latter is obligated to comprehensively look after the maintenance services of the initiative for 25 years.
The floated tender has several specifications of eligibility for prospective bidders, including a set annual average turnover, net worth and even prior experience in operation and maintenance of a minimum 500 Kw grid-connected solar power projects in the last five years.
However, it mentions that the modules that will be utilised in the construction should be manufactured in India for the purpose to acquiring subsidy of incentives. Apparently, 14.06 MW of rooftop tenders have been issued for metro projects in Maharashtra until now.
