Post the deliverance of the historic and unanimous verdict in the much-prolonged Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land title suit, the security of the five justices has been beefed up with enhanced deployment of troops, barricades and mobile escort teams, reports The Hindu.
It should be noted that the five judges include the incumbent Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi, and his successor, CJI-designate Justice SA Bobde. The other judges of the five-judge bench of the Supreme Court which delivered the verdict include Justices DY Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and SA Nazeer.
Prior to the overhaul in their security detail, the justices had house guards and a static security to protect them. Now, they are protected round-the-clock by troops who have been deployed at their residence, and also at the roads leading to their residence along with some barricades.
